CHANGES TO ACCESS TO THE ALARA HEAD OFFICE

The wellbeing of our clients, their families and our staff and volunteers are paramount to us. All our efforts at this time are being directed towards ensuring that we can continue essential services and that our clients and staff are safe and well supported. We have taken the decision that the ALARA Head Office will be closed for general access from today until further notice. Support Staff will still be able to access supplies for safe service provision and essential deliveries will continue.

ALARA’s Reception will continue to operate during normal business hours and our after-hours service will also still be in operation. If your Coordinator or Facilitator is busy on calls with other clients you can ask to speak to Intake or we will take a message and the person you wish to speak to will return your call.

To reduce the risk in the office and comply with social distancing requirements, a number of head office staff are progressively moving to work remotely. We have worked hard to ensure that our systems, equipment and people can continue to operate effectively in situations such as this. As you can appreciate we are minimizing home visits but essential risk assessments and competency assessments will still occur should you require additional members on your support team.

Support Coordination services will continue as usual and we welcome yesterday’s decision by the NDIS to enable participants to access this service flexibly from their Core budget.

Plan Management services and payments will continue as usual, although suppliers have been requested to supply all invoices electronically.

The NDIS and Government Departments responsible for block funding arrangements have approved a number of flexibility measures in the way funding can be used. Many people’s situations may have changed at this time, so if you require your support to be provided in a different way just let us know. If you need a hand with collecting medications, attending appointments, additional cleaning or mealtime preparation services, shopping or unaccompanied shopping talk to your Coordinator/Facilitator. While challenging for everyone, this time gives us the opportunity to look at new ways of doing things. We would welcome your inquiries, insights and ideas about service responses that would best meet your needs. We would love to hear any suggestions about new or innovative ways to support you through this period.

Please stay safe everyone. Any changes to our operations will be communicated via email, social media, and our website.
